 NOTES

These are the names of the strings, this is also known as "Standard tuning".

Your biggest string is the "Low E". This is a good place to start when tuning your guitar. Use our online guitar tuner, and match the "pitch" or sound of each of your guitar strings to the matching pitches generated by our web guitar tuner.

Not all guitars will have round, neck position markers, some have square or trapezoid shaped markers. Others don't have any at all. If you have these on your guitar use them to help you memorize the location of certain notes, chords and scales.
